Community Care
Building stronger communities around people
Community Care covers a range of community support and program areas servicing the local community of Maroondah and beyond as well as within Kingdom Life Church.
Crisis Care
A major goal of the Community Care Department is to offer hope and help to those who are suffering in our community.
We are passionate about joining with the resources already working in our area, partnering with them and supporting each other to change and strengthen our local community.
Case workers can work one-on-one with you to provide solutions to areas where they are experiencing the most hardship. The Case Worker will develop a plan on how to address the major issues, suggest agencies which can offer support and ways in which the client can improve his/her circumstances. Community Care maintains a bank of non-perishable foods, basic grocery needs and other essential living items. These are available for use for any crisis situations or eemergency assistance. Community care can also provide limited food vouchers or emergency financial assistance as well as frozen meals (through Pastoral Care Meal Bank) if necessary.
Professional Counselling
Community Care has a student counsellor who provides counselling for members of the church and community.
Counselling is available to individuals, families or couples on areas including:
· Life controlling substances
· Families, parenting, relationship and/or marriage
· Trauma and crisis
· Other personal or family related issues
Motherhood
We value the mothers in our community and it is our desire to remind them that they are appreciated and loved. Motherhood is a program which provides a casual, relaxed environment for mothers to come with their 0-5 year old children. While the kids enjoy the playground, Mums enjoy coffee and cake on us! It is a great opportunity for mums to build relationships with others in the same season of life as themselves. Join us at Daisey's Bistro, 6 Mt Dandenong Rd, Ringwood. Stay tuned for upcoming dates.
FATHERHOOD: Coming Soon!
Life Skills
It is our aim through the Life Skills support program, to get back to basics.
Life skills helps individuals & families learn the skills that they need to make great choices for their lives. We are currently developing this program to include:
-Grocery shopping on a budget
-Cooking
-Budgeting
-Finances
-Personal Development
If you require support or assistance in one of these areas, or perhaps another area of hardship, we can provide support and training on a case by case basis.
